Are you retired? This is what it’s like to live the winter in our campsite by the sea
Hello! I’m Susana, from the reception of Camping Playa la Bota 😊.
You already know that I love to chat with you when you come, but I also like to write to you from time to time to tell you how things are here at Camping Playa La Bota. And today I want to talk especially to you, those of you who are already retired or about to be, and are thinking about what to do this winter.
Because if you have ever thought of living for a few months in a quiet campsite, facing the sea, surrounded by nature and without the hustle and bustle of summer, this article is for you.
🌅 Winter here is experienced in a different way.
When the high season ends, the campsite is transformed.
The days are still bright, the walks on the beach are quieter than ever, and the atmosphere… is peaceful. That peace that is hard to find in other places.
Tranquility, mild climate and leisurely strolls
Here, on the coast of Huelva, winters are mild. There are short-sleeved days even in January, and the sun is with us more than you might think.
Many of you tell me that this weather reminds you of your childhood summers, when everything was calmer. And you are right. Strolling along the shore, reading in the sun, having a coffee without looking at the clock… That is also camping.
Nature to breathe and reconnect
We are surrounded by marshes, pine forests, trails … And best of all is that you have them at hand without taking the car. Here, going down to the beach or getting lost among the trees is part of the routine. But the good kind.
🧓 Why do so many retirees choose our campsite in winter?
In recent years more and more of you have been coming to spend a few months with us at the end of the summer. And I understand you perfectly.
Quiet and respectful environment
The profile of the people who come at this time is very special. A peaceful, respectful atmosphere is created, with quiet conversations and outdoor dining. Many of you read, do crossword puzzles, take walks, get to know each other… and I am delighted to see that good vibes.
Monthly price and services included
In recent years more and more of you have been coming to spend a few months with us at the end of the summer. And I understand you perfectly.
From October to March we offer the possibility of renting a plot by the month.
The price is 475 €/month, and includes all this:
Pitch with caravan + car, or motorhome
2 persons
2 animals (yes, pets are welcome 🐶🐾).
Up to 2 vehicles
10 amp electrical connection
And with all the usual camping services: bathrooms, showers, reception, maintenance… No surprises!
Unhurried, unhurried freedom
You can stay one, two, three or even six months. The maximum is from October to March, but within that period, you decide when to start.
There is no need to book everything at once: you can come, try it for a month… and if you like it (which you will), continue.
🐾 Travel with your partner, your pet… or with yourself.
One of the nicest things I see here is that you come in many forms:
As a couple, looking for time together.
Alone, to reconnect with yourselves.
With friends, sharing this stage of life.
And, of course, with your pets, who have space and shade here to be at ease.
Here, everyone finds their own corner.
🛏️ What are the plots like and what does the monthly stay include?
Our plots are very close to the beach and have enough space to settle comfortably. No need to worry about anything.

All the basic services of the campsite
How long can you stay?
You can contract up to 6 months between October and March. For example:
You arrive in November → you can stay until March (5 months).
You arrive in January → you can stay until March (3 months).
No commitment, no rush. As it should be.
