The April Fair in Seville: an experience to be lived with all the senses.

There is a very specific moment in the Feria de Abril when everything seems to turn on at once.

The lanterns illuminate the streets of Real, the music starts to come out of the “casetas” and Seville is filled with an atmosphere that is difficult to explain if you have not experienced it. People who come wanting to dance, to toast, to stroll without looking at the clock. Families, groups of friends, couples… all mixed in the same place.

There is something special about the April Fair: it is intense, joyful, noisy, luminous.

And also exhausting.

Because when the night is over, when the body asks for rest, many visitors discover the same problem: sleeping in Seville during the fair is not always easy.

When the lanterns are lit and the night begins.

As evening falls, the fairgrounds change pace.

The streets fill up little by little, the lights of the lanterns draw the sky of Real and the music starts to be heard in every corner. Some casetas open their doors while others are already full of people dancing sevillanas.

It is an atmosphere that invites you to stay, to move from one booth to another, to enjoy without looking too much at the time.

For many visitors, it is one of those moments of the year that will be remembered for a long time.

Music, booths and streets full of life.

The fair has something that catches you. You can arrive with a very clear plan and end up improvising for hours. A stroll that extends, one more tapa, a sevillana that ends in a different stand.

But after several hours walking, dancing or just enjoying the atmosphere… it’s time to rest.

And this is where one of the big questions arises for those who visit the fair from outside: where to sleep?

The great dilemma of many visitors: Where to sleep during the fair?

Anyone who has tried to organize a trip to the Feria de Abril knows this.

Finding accommodation in Seville during those days can be a bit of a challenge.

Hotels with skyrocketing prices

During the fair, hotels in the city tend to fill up well in advance. And when rooms are still available, the prices are usually much higher than usual.

This is normal for events of this magnitude, but for many travelers -especially groups of friends or families- it can complicate the plan quite a bit.

The city is full and rest is difficult.

To this is added another reality: Seville during the fair is full of life… practically at any time.

The festive atmosphere continues well into the early hours of the morning, the streets are still active and rest, in many cases, is not as easy as one might imagine.

After an intense day at the fair, the only thing many people are looking for is something very simple: a quiet place to get a good night’s sleep.

When all you want at the end of the day is silence

That’s why more and more visitors are opting for something different.

Instead of staying in the center of Seville, they look for nearby places from where they can easily reach the fair, but where the end of the day is much more relaxed.

A way to enjoy the atmosphere of Seville… without renouncing to rest.

A quiet alternative a little more than an hour from Seville

Sleeping near the sea after a day at the trade fairs

After spending hours walking between booths, listening to music and enjoying the atmosphere of the Real, arriving at a quiet place is more appreciated than one imagines.

Here the end of the day is different.

The noise disappears, the pace slows down and rest comes much more naturally. Something that many people appreciate especially when the next day’s plan is to return to Seville to continue enjoying the fair.

Playa la Bota campsite: nature and relaxation on the coast of Huelva

Camping Playa la Bota is located in a natural environment very close to the sea, on the coast of Huelva.

It is a place designed to rest, disconnect and spend the night in a much more relaxed atmosphere than that of a city in full celebration.

During the April Fair, for many visitors it becomes that point of balance between two worlds: the energy of Seville and the calm of the coast of Huelva.

Ideal for families, groups of friends and young getaways

In addition, camping is often particularly convenient for those traveling in groups.

Families who want to enjoy the fair without complications, groups of friends looking for a cheaper alternative to hotels or young people who simply prefer to stay in a quiet place to rest after a long day.

It is a different way of organizing the trip, but it is becoming more and more common.

The perfect plan: experience the fair and relax away from the hustle and bustle.

Many visitors discover this plan almost by chance.

One year they try staying outside of Seville… and the next year they repeat.

Spending the day and night in Seville

The idea is simple.

Enjoy the fair with total freedom: stroll through the Real, visit booths, taste the typical gastronomy, dance Sevillanas or just let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere.

No rush, no rigid schedules.

The fair is lived at its own pace.

A different way to enjoy the Feria de Abril

The April Fair in Seville is one of those experiences that is worth living at least once.

Its lights, its music, its streets full of life and that feeling of constant celebration that envelops the city for a few days.

But enjoying it does not necessarily mean sleeping amidst the noise.

Sometimes, the best way to experience the fair is precisely to combine both: the intensity of the Sevillian atmosphere during the day… and the tranquility of a place to rest at the end of the night.

For many people who visit Seville on these dates, Camping Playa la Bota ends up being that place where the fair is lived with the same joy … but the rest really comes.

As for me, I will be waiting for you at the reception desk.
Kisses, Susana
